Our Short Certificate in Administrative Assistant Short provides you with a series of hands-on courses leading to the mastery of technical and soft skills required in the smooth running of today’s modern office. Completion of this program will prepare you for entry-level administrative positions to mid-level assistant roles.

Required courses (183 hours/18.3 CEUs)

  • BSAD 1068 Office Administration Skills (36 hours)
  • BSAD 1029 Microsoft Office (36 hours)
  • BSAD 1090 Management Info systems (39 hours)
  • GBSC 1004 Business Communications (36 hours)
  • BSAD 1016 Project supervision (18 hours)
  • CSFW 2009 Excel 2 (18 hours)

Total Program Cost

Program Fees: $2,795*, plus optional textbook fees of approx $150
Additional cost of $20-$100 for supplies will vary depending each individual student's computer set-up.

Credential Eligibility

To qualify for the certification, students must complete 183 hours of course work. Successful completion of all the required courses with a minimum C+ in each course is required. All requirements must be completed within two years of starting the program. Students can complete the program as quick as one year or six semesters.

Courses may be taken individually as long as individual course prerequisites are met. Students completing the short certificate do not need to apply to the program as registration is by course.

Entry Requirements:

  • Minimum 19 years of age

English Language proficiency

Due to the technical nature of the learning materials, it is recommended that students have an English language proficiency in writing, speaking, and comprehension, at a level of BC Grade 12 English or Communications.
