Langara offers a variety of financial supports to recognize students’ academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and meet their financial needs. There are several awards that students from different programs may be eligible for. The two most common types of awards are:

  • Scholarships: Recognize outstanding students who have achieved high academic standings. Other merit-based awards for community involvement may also be available. 
    • Awards have specific criteria that recipients must satisfy, including being a full-time student, have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 or higher, and be in good standing with the College. 
    • General Scholarships require only one application. Apply here.
    • Faculty of Management Scholarships: listed below.
  • Bursaries: Provide critical support to students in financial need.
    • Bursary recipients must be enrolled in a minimum of nine credits, be in good academic standing, and be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons with proof of status. 
    • Recipients will be notified by the third month of classes and funds will be distributed near the end of the term. Bursary funds should not be counted on to pay for tuition or books.

PDD | Dwyer Immigration Medical Services Award is awarded to an international student enrolled in one of the post-degree diploma programs within the Faculty of Management. Recipients must have completed a minimum of 27 credits and demonstrate active engagement, leadership, or a passion for learning in the Langara community or their own community through involvement in student clubs, volunteering, or community services groups. (Spring)

CPAEF Diversity Award is awarded to a student registered full time in their last year of study in any accounting program from the Langara Faculty of Management (Bachelor, Diploma or Post Degree Diploma). The recipient should have a minimum CGPA of 2.5 and demonstrate an interest to pursue a CPA designation after graduation. The recipient should identify as Indigenous, person of colour, student with accessibility needs or a single parent. If more than one student meets the above criteria, preference will be given to the student with the highest CGPA. (Any term)

CPAEF Leadership Award is awarded to a student registered full time in their last year of study in any accounting program from the Langara Faculty of Management (Bachelor, Diploma or Post Degree Diploma). The recipient should have a minimum CGPA of 3.0, demonstrate an interest to pursue a CPA designation after graduation and be the student who demonstrates the most leadership and engagement inside or outside the Langara community through volunteering, student clubs, classroom activities or community groups. (Any term)

Clearline CPA Award is awarded to a student registered full-time or part-time in their last term of study in any Accounting program from the Langara Faculty of Management (Bachelor, Diploma, Post Degree Diploma). The recipient should have a minimum CGPA of 3.0, demonstrate an interest to pursue a CPA designation after graduation and must demonstrate financial need. If more than one student meets the above criteria, preference will be given to the student with the highest CGPA in the last 30 credits of their program. (Spring)

BBA International Business | HSBC Bank of Canada International Business Scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled full-time in the International Business concentration of the BBA program. Recipients must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and a commitment to community service or extra-curricular activities at Langara. (Spring)

BBA Marketing | Keith Murray Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in the fourth year of the Marketing Management concentration of the BBA program with a minimum CGPA of 3.33. The recipient must show a demonstrated interest and commitment to extra-curricular and athletic activities either within Langara or in the greater community. Preference will be given to students who are known to be hardworking, reliable, of high integrity, enthusiastic, and supportive of fellow learners. (Spring)

All | Michael Sharzer Scholarship for Business Presentation Skills recognizes outstanding achievement by Langara College Business students. The two students achieving the highest marks in each section of BUSM 1500 (Business Presentation Skills) will be invited to present to a panel of judges composed of faculty in the BBA program. The recipient must have a minimum mark of 85% and a cumulative GPA of 3.0. (Spring)

The awards listed below do not require an application. As a Langara Business student, you are automatically considered for these awards.

BBA | LSM Excellence Scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in their last term of the Bachelor of Business Administration program with the highest CGPA. If more than one student meets the criteria, then the student with the highest CGPA over the last two terms will be considered. (Spring, Summer or Fall)

BBA | LSU Langara School of Management Scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in the Faculty of Management with the highest CGPA who have completed the first two years of the BBA program. (All terms)

BBA | Langara Financial Services Scholarship recognizes students in the third or fourth year of the BBA program with a GPA of 2.75 or greater. This should be awarded to a student who is not otherwise receiving an award. (Spring)

BBA or Diploma | Innovation Networks Business Technology Award recognizes a student who has completed the Business Computer Applications I (BCAP 1200) course within the last three terms and demonstrated the most active engagement and leadership throughout the course. (Spring, Summer or Fall)

Diploma | Business Management Scholarships awards students enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits in the Business Management Diploma program. Three scholarships recognize the students with the highest mark in Strategic Management, Operations Management, and Project Management. (Spring)

BBA Business | Xerox Canada Business Scholarship Awarded to a graduate student with the highest GPA in the final 30 credits of the Business Management concentration in the BBA program. Student must have a minimum GPA of 3.5. (Spring)

International Business | Society of Notaries Public of B.C. Scholarship is awarded to a student who has completed or is enrolled in an International Business Law course, who has shown an exceptional work ethic and who made a significant contribution to the program or the school. (Spring)

BBA Accounting | Scotiabank Business Scholarship is awarded to the student with the highest GPA in the final 30 credits of the Accounting concentration in the Bachelor of Business Administration program. The recipient must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5. (Summer)

BBA Marketing | Marketing Management Scholarship is awarded to the student with the highest GPA in the final 30 credits of the Marketing Management concentration in the Bachelor of Business Administration program. Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5. (Summer)

Scholarships available in the Fall term

BBA Accounting | S. Charania Family Legacy Fund is awarded to a fourth year domestic student studying full-time in the Bachelor of Business Administration - Accounting program. The recipient plans to pursue a Canadian CPA designation and is actively involved in volunteering and community service activities within Langara or the greater community. Preference is given to a female student who has demonstrated financial need. (Fall)

BBA International Business | The Right Honourable Don Mazankowski Scholarship is awarded to a fourth-year Bachelor of Business Administration student who has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement in the International Business Management concentration of the program. When more than one student has achieved academic excellence, additional criteria of leadership and community involvement will be considered. (Fall)

All programs | Thermenex Entrepreneurship Award is awarded to a student who has the best proposal to pitch a new business start-up that showcases innovation and entrepreneurship. An application and pitch proposal is required. (Fall)

The awards listed below do not require an application. As a Langara Business student, you are automatically considered for these awards.

BBA | LSU Langara School of Management Scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in the Faculty of Management with the highest CGPA who have completed the first two years of the BBA program. (Spring, Summer and Fall)

BBA | Jennifer Prosser Wade Family Business Scholarship is awarded to a second year Bachelor of Business student who has contributed to the ongoing learning and growth of fellow students. Student must have completed a minimum of 30 credits and no more than 60 credits and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. (Fall)

BBA Business | Business Management Scholarships – Business Planning is awarded to a group of students with the highest grade in BUSM 2450: Business Planning with a minimum grade of 85%.  All members of the group must be registered in and continuing in the Bachelor of Business Administration Program. (Fall)
